LinkedIn Said I Was a Bad Boy

January 29, 2009 | by brett | Permalink

As some avid followers on this blog know, I’ve been feverishly boosting up my social connection capital in an effort to share our weekly videos with the world. Well, apparently LinkedIn didn’t like it.

I’m on my last limb with LinkedIn, where they are threatening to throw me out if I continue to add connections that I’ve only exchanged emails with once or twice. This would be the second time I’ve been thrown off a social networking site, the first being Digg about three years ago for posting a link to an article.

Here’s the message I got from LinkedIn. And if you’d like to add me as a connection, please do by clicking here.

Invitation Restriction

Your account has been restricted because a significant number of LinkedIn users whom you have invited to your network have indicated that they don’t know you. Use of LinkedIn is subject to the terms of our User Agreement, which you have violated. An example of the violation includes breach of Section 11, LinkedIn User DOs & DON’Ts.“As a condition to access LinkedIn, you agree to this User Agreement and to strictly observe the following DOs and DON’Ts:Don’t – Invite people with whom you have no prior relationship to join your network.”

By selecting the checkbox and clicking “OK” you Agree you will comply with all the terms of the User Agreement. If you violate the agreement, you acknowledge that your account may remain permanently restricted or be closed by LinkedIn.
